Wedding Extras

There are few wedding extras that you can buy to help your big day run like clockwork or to make your wedding totally personal to you. Here we give you the low down on some wedding extras including wedding rings, wedding planners, wedding fireworks, wedding beauty treatments, wedding hairdressers, and wedding speeches.

Wedding Rings

The most symbolic and long-lasting piece of jewellery you’ll probably ever wear is a wedding ring, so it is important for the bride and groom to choose rings which are not going to go out of fashion and that they will be proud to wear for the rest of their married life. It is traditional for the couple to exchange wedding rings during the wedding ceremony to seal their marriage.

There are plenty of wedding rings to choose from, ranging from diamond set, Celtic and patterned wedding rings, to traditional plain bands, which remain popular for their timeless style. To add a personal touch, a wedding band ring can be engraved, in which case the wider version will need to be purchased to allow room for a personal message. In most cases the bride and groom choose to have matching wedding rings.

Wedding Planners

Wedding planners, otherwise known as wedding co-ordinators, are the professionals of the wedding industry and can offer you expert guidance in all aspects of planning for your big day. They are skilled managers, negotiators and mediators and can therefore take the worry and stress out of arranging your wedding day.

Whatever your reason for hiring a wedding planner, whether you don't have time to arrange your wedding or you just want someone else to take the strain, there are a number of different wedding co-ordinators working around the UK today.

A wedding planner can often save you money as they can negotiate with businesses to get wedding services at a much better rate. When this occurs any savings they make are passed on to you. Another benefit of a wedding planner is the strict financial control of your wedding expenses. Many couples who arrange their own wedding end up overspending, but a wedding planner makes it his or her job to stick to the budget.

Wedding Fireworks, Balloons and Other Little Extras

Why not make your special day even more special with a few little extras such as fireworks, which can mark the end of the celebrations, or balloons, which can float above the dance floor allowing you to take your first dance between the hanging ribbons, or even specially made cocktails so you can really celebrate in style. The little extras you choose will probably be very personal touches, and having a few things that are just for you can make all the difference.

Wedding Beauty Treatments and Wedding Hairdressers

Every blushing bride wants to look a million dollars when they walk down the aisle, and these days there are a few beauty treatments available to give you a helping hand. Beauty salons offer various treatments and many have specially tailored treatment packages for brides-to-be. The treatments, such as aromatherapy massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, inch-loss wraps, and bust treatments can help to accentuate your best bits and improve the rest – after all, your wedding day is a perfect excuse to splash out on special beauty treats.

As well as special beauty treatments for the wedding, every bride wants their hair to also look a million dollars. Whether the bride wants classic cascading locks or flowers incorporating into their hair, a wedding hairdresser will create the hairstyle the bride desires for her special day. Many hairdressers offer hairdressing treatments for brides in their salons, while personal hairdressers can come to the bride’s home.

Wedding Speeches

Wedding speeches are usually a highly entertaining, humorous and often moving time in the wedding celebrations.

The father of the bride usually thanks the guests for coming, thanks everyone who contributed to the cost of the wedding, praises his daughter and welcomes her new husband into the family, and toasts the bride and groom. The bridegroom makes his speech, which includes thanking the father of the bride for his toast, thanking the guests for attending and for their gifts, thanking both sets of parents, complimenting his bride, thanking his best man, and toasting the bridesmaids. It is then the best man’s turn to speak and he usually recites funny stories about the groom in an entertaining speech.

Other wedding extras you might like to consider when arranging your big day are poems, readings and quotations, calligraphers, hymns, thank you letters, and writing your own vows.
